Dengue!

It all started when I woke up last Tuesday, Setember 19, 2k6 and felt that my joints were all hurting. I felt a little off and decided to take my temperature. 39.9 degrees the thermometer read! I dismissed it as the flu and took paracetamol. What was funny was hat the fever wasn't going away even with super doses of Biogesic. The thermometer read 39.7-39.9 constantly. Decided to get a complete blood count (cbc) and the results read a 167 platelet count––well within the means of the 150-400 normal count. The bad thing was I had to go to Tanay for a location check that Thursday. My fever was down to 38 so I decided to push through with the location. When I got home, my fever was back to 39.9. was what I had in mind. My fever was constant still at 39.9 and I wasn't perspiring at all. The heat was all inside and I felt really bad! I decided to get another platelet count the following day and it was way down to 67! The doctors I have been talking to (Jojo Hosaka and Manjo Ruiz), started to panick. They kept on asking if I had bleedings already. I wasn't but decided to have myself confined already. Thanks to Bukay Urra Lagman, I was able to get a room in Medical City. I checked in at about 7:30 PM, Sept. 22.

This is the view from my room.

My potasium enriched IV that was attached to me for four days.

I went out the following tuesday. The only good thing was I was still able to watch Game 1 of the Ateneo-UST UAAP championship games. Ateneo won!

I'd like to thank Father for my wife who took very good care of me during the whole time, Yaya Luz who stayed with me in the hospital, Mama and Gab, Bukay, Luigi, Yayan, Ina, my sisters, my friends from Victory and everyone who wished me well during the whole bout. Praise you, Lord for keeping me safe and well.

Man, dengue was so bad. I won't even wish it to the most corrupt government official...On second thought...
